This policy explains what personal data LMAP Academy Pvt. Ltd. ("LMAP Academy", "we") collects through lmapacademy.org and how we use it, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, optional phone number and a securely hashed password.
- Learning activity: the courses you enrol in, the lessons you complete and the certificates you earn.
- Payment records: order IDs, payment IDs, amounts and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach our servers.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected with cookies or similar technology if analytics is enabled.
How we use it
- To create your account and give you access to the courses you bought.
- To track your progress and issue certificates.
- To process payments, refunds and invoices.
- To reply to your support requests.
- To send you important service emails. Marketing emails are sent only if you have agreed to them, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how the Website is used and improve it.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Website — for example Razorpay (payments), our hosting provider and, if enabled, Google Analytics. They may process data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law.
Certificate verification
Each certificate has a unique ID. Anyone with that ID can view the name on the certificate, the course and the date it was issued — that is how employers verify it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is active. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we will delete or anonymise your data except where we must keep it by law.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing support@lmapacademy.org. We will respond within 30 days.
Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, the Website uses HTTPS, and access to our database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
The Website is not intended for children under 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
